Sega, the multinational video game creator is now officially venturing into the online gambling market. They have been granted an Alderney license allowing them to become a licensed online gambling operator.

If you can remember back to the 1990’s when Sonic the Hedgehog became all the rage, then you are fully familiar with Sega. Their console was one of the most popular consoles at the time but unfortunately was phased out by their competitors, Nintendo and Sony Playstation.

Today, Sega has mainly focused on creating gaming software for some of the the decade’s most prominent video game providers and has even ventured into the online gambling business.

Sega Games Ltd. has already partnered with Playtech, a casino software provider, to help them build their casino and poker platforms.

According to a Sega representative, “The Alderney Gambling Control Commission provides the most comprehensive gaming regulations with the strictest requirements and as such is recognizes as the most reputable online gaming jurisdiction.”

“This provides as excellent fit with Sega’s regulatory compliant strategy, and we are pleased to be approved by this leading authority.”
